Belle Italia

It seems like everyone is going to Italy.  Shirley, from Simply-Chateau just returned from Venice, and Corey is there now. 
Although we're "French at Heart", we dearly love Italy, too.  Especially Tuscany. And Venice.

We've only been to Venice three times, always during Carnevale, the festival which precedes Lent. Now, February brings back memories of those trips...

    Thank you for posting these lovely and inspiring photos today. I adore the lagoon photo! It's giving me something to dream about on this sunny day.

    I want to ask you if you are familiar with any places to stay in the 5th, 6th or 7th arrondissement in Paris? My MIL is going in May and is looking for a two bedroom. If you have any suggestions, I would so grateful.

    Dawne, you are fabulous....you can take any city or any PLACE and add what I would say is....POETRY.

    I especially love the postcard version. Well my precious one, Italy is a great place. I was only in Cinqua Terra for a week, but loved every moment. I remember going on a hike one day through an olive grove, on the cliffs with Ruben. We stopped to talk to a local. I spoke French, Ruben spoke Spanish and the woman spoke Italian. It was awesome because we UNDERSTOOD EACH OTHER!!!!!

    Your images are breath-taking. You have captured the mood and essence of Venice. I have painted, on location in Venice, the first four images from slightly different vantage points.
    Are'nt the sunsets spectacular in Venice and the pink globes on the street lamps.

    These gorgeous works of art gave me chills! Happy little tingles! I visited Rome, Florence, Venice and the Amalfi Coast back in 2006. LOVED it so much. And Venice was my favorite too. Last year we went to Pari and the South of France... I just adore Europe. It's a dreamland. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous work!
