Welcome to French at Heart, a photography blog with few words, but many pictures of a country I love, France. All of the photographs were taken by my husband, Dean Polis, and myself, Dawne, and edited in Adobe Photoshop. If you like what you see, I would be honored if you'd leave a comment. And if you would like to learn our Digital Photography secrets, and make photographs like these yourself, [ oh, yes, you can do it!] we would be happy to lead you on an image making adventure to France with us. amoureux à Paris

young lovers

m u s é e  c a r n a v a l e t

this musée, in the Marais, was once the home of Madame de Sévigné, a friend of Louis XIV. I'm fond of this woman because of the elegance and sheer beauty of her former home, but mostly because of the tender loving letters that she wrote to her married daughter.

  1. Stunning photos! Musée Carnavalet is on my my favorite spots in Paris.

  2. What an exquisite post! Sadly I did not get to visit the Musee Carnavalet when I was in Paris even though I was staying in the Marais! Next time for sure!!

  3. I have never heard of this Madame. I think, I will have some fun doing a little research. Lovely images as always.

  4. It looks fascinating and the type of museum I would like to visit. I shall put it in my notes for a future visit to Paris.
Thanks you for this informative post

  5. Good morning dearest Dawne!

I am late due to work. I am having a time keeping up these days with this exhausting school year! But here is a refreshing repose, here chez toi. You make everything magic my dear. You are QUEEN MIDAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your view of the world, especially Paris, through not only your camera lens but your mind!

    BISOUS! Anita

  6. Good morning gorgeous!

You are on my mind this lovely and quiet Saturday morning...Anita

  7. WE JUST CROSSED each other's paths!!!!!!!! Oh Dawne, you are toooooo kind. Through the struggle of wanting to write and not having TIME to write, I WRITE what is in my heart. I figured that the only way to produce is to BE. ÊTRE.

Nancy you know, is Ruben's beautiful and talented sister. She is special to us and she is so right about that proverb. As I grow older, I am learning that BOLDNESS and bravery are what God wants us to have to shine. What a life, n'est-ce pas?

I HOPE YOU are well and that this weekend will bless your heart out!!!!! We have a three-day weekend, for Monday is President's Day! YOWSA!!!!!!!! I am creating today!!!

    LOVE TO YOU, Anita

  8. Feeling so blessed to be in such treasured company here...
